Yearly Round-up – 2024

29 January 2025 | Chapter54

Happy New Year from the team at Chapter54!

We are very excited for what 2025 has in store – for our Scaleups, the Chapter54 program, and the European and African tech scenes. But, before we begin to share our monthly roundups this year, we wanted to reflect on everything 2024 brought. From expanding into new markets to forging connections, the last year has been nothing short of extraordinary. Let’s take a look at the highlights:

⭐ In February, we gathered in beautiful Munich, Germany, for the 2nd edition of the Chapter54 Summit. The event brought together Scaleups, mentors, partners, and experts to discuss growing revenue in Africa. Missed it? Watch the highlights here.

🍾 Throughout the year, we hosted 8 side events across Africa, spanning Morocco, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Kenya, and more—fostering connections and strengthening the Chapter54 community.

🫱🏽‍🫲 Our Scaleups signed multiple partnerships with African organizations, unlocking opportunities across the continent.

🏠 We supported the opening of new offices and the recruitment of local African talent to drive growth and strengthen on-the-ground capabilities.

🙋🏽 We added new mentors and welcomed perk providers like Workpay and Talking Drum Communications, ensuring our Scaleups have the resources they need to successfully expand in Africa.

🤩 In November, current Chapter54 Scaleup Barin Sports hosted its inaugural Sports Science Conference in Sofia, Bulgaria. Chapter54 mentor Ahmed Nader attended the conference, where he had the chance to meet Ballon d’Or legend Michael Owen—what a highlight! ⚽

As we begin 2025, we’re ready to bring even more energy, enthusiasm, and bias for action! Our motto—for doers, by doers, with doers—continues to guide us as we support Scaleups in reaching new heights.
