Monthly RoundUp - September 2025

10 September 2025 | Chapter54

July/August wrap-up | Back in Action, On the Ground

After a well-earned summer pause, Chapter54 jumped straight back into action this September with a wave of activity across the continent and beyond. From onboarding new scaleups to building bridges at high-energy mixers in Dakar and Berlin, the focus remained clear: creating real opportunities for European tech to grow in Africa — and vice versa. Let’s take a look at what we’ve been up to:

🇸🇳 Dakar Days: Welcoming Myriad & Showcasing Agurotech

This Summer, we officially welcomed Myriad to the Chapter54 program! Based in Dakar and Paris, Myriad delivers technological solutions to telcos and financial institutions, helping them expand value-added services across 14+ African markets.

To mark the occasion, we co-hosted the Myriad Mixer at Partech’s Villa in Dakar — a lively evening of exchange with over 40 leaders from Africa’s fintech and banking sectors, including Orange, COFINA, Bank of Africa, and Djamo.

Also in Senegal, we spotlighted Agurotech's products in action in a bespoke testimonial video produced by Chapter54. The Dutch AgriTech scaleup is providing sensor technology to help local farmers like Fresh2You make smarter irrigation and crop decisions — cutting costs and boosting productivity.
🎥 Watch the video to see how data-driven farming is growing roots in West Africa.

🇧🇬 New Joiner: IBS Bulgaria Joins Chapter54

We’re proud to welcome IBS to the program! IBS offers fraud management technological solutions to financial services (banking, insurance, payment switch). They are based in Sofia, Bulgaria with clients across the globe and a new office in Dubai.

🇩🇪 Berlin Tech Mixer: Connecting the Dots

We hosted our first-ever Chapter54 Summer Tech Mixer in Berlin, bringing together scaleup founders, ecosystem builders, and investors at Partech’s German HQ. The evening proved to be another strong reminder of the appetite for Africa-focused growth — and the power of community to make it happen.

Meanwhile, Mimi Hitzemann, our Scaleup Success Manager, continued the German momentum with a visit to Munich for a gathering of African deep tech players hosted by Open Startup International.

🧑🏽‍🌾 Tuning into the Food System in Dakar

Mimi also headed to the Africa Food Systems Forum in Dakar — connecting with stakeholders across agriculture, tech, and investment. The forum, centered on putting farmers at the heart of Africa’s economic growth, was a valuable platform to exchange on innovation, sustainability, and agritech scaling stories like Agurotech’s.

As always, we’re here to support ambitious European scaleups ready to turn African expansion into a strategic reality. Whether you’re exploring your first market or deepening existing roots, we’re here to help you build — with confidence, context, and community.

💡 Let’s build, together.
