Monthly RoundUp – June 2026

28 June 2026 | Chapter54

June reflected Chapter54's commitment to helping European companies grow across Africa, from discussions on Germany's role in African innovation to welcoming a new German scaleup.

🌱 Welcoming Computomics to the Chapter54 portfolio

This month also marked the onboarding of Computomics, a German bioinformatics company using AI and genomics to accelerate innovation in plant breeding and agriculture.

Trusted by organizations such as Starke Ayres in South Africa, Computomics combines advanced data science with agricultural expertise to enable breeders to make faster, better-informed decisions.  Computomics is also serving the brewing & malting sector, such as AB Inbev, to develop climate-resistant varieties to future proof their business. We are excited to support the team as they explore new growth opportunities across the African continent.

🎙️ Chapter54 contributes to the conversation on Germany and Africa

Chapter54 contributed to a podcast hosted by Hélène Kohl exploring Germany's growing engagement across the African continent: S8E8 Du Sahel à la Tech: la feuille de route allemande en Afrique | Le Podkast

The discussion brought together a panel of ecosystem leaders, including Tidjane from Partech Africa, who shared insights into Germany's role in supporting African innovation and entrepreneurship.

🤝 Our scaleup Myriad brings together the fintech ecosystem in Dakar

Together with Myriad, Chapter54 co-hosted the second Myriad Mixer at the Partech Villa in Dakar, bringing together more than 30 executives from the fintech and microfinance sectors.

The evening focused on one of the region's most important regulatory developments, the BCEAO's PI-PSI interoperability project, and what it means for financial institutions across West Africa. Participants also attended a live demonstration showcasing how Myriad's solutions help institutions adapt to evolving regulatory requirements.

📢 Discover Invest for Jobs funding opportunities

For companies looking to expand their activities in Africa, keep KfW's Invest for Jobs initiative in mind. The most recent call targeted projects in Côte d'Ivoire, Egypt, and Morocco: https://invest-for-jobs.com/en/investing-for-employment
