Monthly Round-up – December 2024

The end of the year is nearing, but before we down tools here at Chapter54, there’s still time to look at what the team has been up to this past month. And we haven’t let the festivities get in the way of our busy schedule! Let’s get stuck in...

🗣️ Chapter54’s Managing Director Vincent Previ had a particularly busy month, with two speaking engagements. He spoke at a conference organized by IFRI– the French Institute of International Relations – sharing his experience and vision on the key role of startups in strengthening ties between Africa, Korea and France. He also attended Emerging Valley in Aix-en-Provence, discussing legal tech in Africa.

🇪🇬 Further afield, the Chapter54 team spent a week in Cairo, helping two of our scaleups gain insight into the Egyptian market. It was also a great opportunity to meet potential clients, extend our network, and, of course, reconnect with local Chapter54 friends and contacts. 

🤝 Vincent and Benjamin, our Scaleup Success Manager, welcomed a delegation of Nigerian Tech professionals to the Partech Shaker in Paris. This visit, organized by Claire Lavielle from the French Treasury in Nigeria, provided a fantastic platform for meaningful discussions – from Partech’s investments in Nigeria (TradeDepot, Reliance Health, Nomba) to Chapter54’s role in bridging the Tech scenes of Europe and Africa. It was also a chance to share our common experiences and insights on what makes Nigeria and Africa such exciting hubs for innovation.

⚽ Barin Sports, a current Chapter54 Scaleup, hosted its inaugural Sports Science Conference in Sofia, Bulgaria. Attendees included Chapter54 Mentor Ahmed Nader and Michael Owen, Ballon d’Or legend and Barin Sports investor!
